That didn't sound too far off from dormitory experiments, honestly. The context, though, was quite different; rather than hasty and awkward, a poor substitution for what they could not have, it was for its own sake, with someone who was already a good deal more than a mere classmate and schoolfriend. Never mind what he might yet become.
