The variety is rather impressive, isn't it? Ooo, fountain pens. I enjoyed dabbling in the impressive variety of ink colors and nibs when I was younger, but I found them not as practical as more modern pens. Didn't have the patience for them. A lot of people still enjoy them, although they're hard to find unless you go to a specialty shop.
Yes, have discovered ballpoint 🖋 since arriving. ✒️ is elegant but not portable, ✏️ must be sharpened. Still getting used to it but quite like them. - JW
[ César takes a moment to appreciate how quickly Watson has adjusted. That was the smoothest transition he's ever seen. Wow, this man is smart. ]
The lack of portability was my biggest problem. The ink doesn't really leak anymore, but dried up pens just when I needed them made me *frustrated*. Filling it cost a lot of time when you can refills for other pens cheaply and switch them out quickly, allowing you to not be distracted from your idea.
[He is having A BALL. And this isn't too different from telegramese. Obviously no one's been charged by the word here but it's not entirely unfamiliar.]
Have discovered many new innovations here. Very splendid. Cannot identify half of 💊 in infirmary, may be problem. - JW

[ Yes, precisely. And look at him use more emojis than César usually does. ]
At least you won't be bored. I don't know enough about medications to be of much use, especially since I'm very unfamiliar with drug interactions. Someone could accidentally get incredibly hurt with my very limited knowledge.
I have first aid training. *That* I can help with.
[ Then, shortly after. ]
From a triage perspective, that's probably the information I need to share with you immediately. I can start writing that down right after I get a notebook.
[ And then, shortly after that. ]
We have an Infirmary. Unattended and without staff. ... I'm sorry, but the notebook will have to wait.
